Cook With Me Tuesday: Baked Ziti

Hey guys and welcome back! Today I wanted to share with you a quick and delicious recipe for baked ziti. This recipe is enough to make 2 full baked zitis, so you can either freeze them both for later or eat one now and freeze the other.

What You'll Need:

3 pounds prepared ground beef
2 pounds Ziti noodle
1 large jar past sauce of choice ( I like the chunky garden Ragu)
4 cups shredded Italian mixed cheese (or you can just use mozzarella if you prefer)

What You'll Do:

1. Bring a large pot of water to boil over medium-high heat and add the noodles to the pot with a good size pinch of salt. Bring water back to a boil and allow noodle to cook until tender.

2. While the noodles are cooking, mix together the prepared ground beef and your spaghetti sauce. If you'd like to see how I prepare my ground beef, please click here.

3. Once the pasta is tender, drain and allow to cool.

4. Once the pasta has cooled mix together with the spaghetti sauce in a large bowl.

5a.  Dump into 2 prepared (sprayed with cooking spray) 13x9 baking pan top with cheese and cover with tin foil. Write on the foil to bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour making sure to remove the foil 15 minutes before ziti is finished baking.

5b. Seperate and place into 2 gallon size ziplock bags. The bags you'll need to write to allow to thaw, pour into a pan, top with 2 cups of cheese and then bake at 350 uncovered for 40-45 minutes or until cheese is golden brown on top.

5c. If you plan on baking the ziti now, place in a 13x9 baking pan, top with cheese, and then bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes or until cheese is golden brown on top.

6. Serve hot with a side salad or veggies for the perfect dinner.
